Endometriosis occurs in the childbearing age. This reproductive system disorder, characterized by abnormal growth of endometrial tissues beyond the uterus, is one of the main causes of infertility in young women.
In normal circumstances, endometrial cells grow inside the uterus, forming its inner lining. If the egg released in the fallopian tube after ovulation fails to fertilize, the endometrium breaks down. It is then eliminated from the uterus through menstrual bleeding. In some women, the endometrial tissues grow in abnormal locations. They might grow in the fallopian tubes, on the outer surface of the uterus, on the ovaries and in other organs in the pelvic region.
The endometrial implants in endometriosis distort the structure of the fallopian tubes. The anatomic changes in the reproductive organs along with hormonal imbalance produced by abnormal endometrial tissue growths disrupt ovulation, fertilization of eggs and prevent implantation of the embryo.
Endometriosis could be treated with hormone medications. Birth control pills could inhibit abnormal growth of the endometrial cells. Treatment with danazol pushes down the estrogen level, mimicking menopause, and preventing development of endometrial tissues. Gonadotropin hormone is injected in the body to prevent endometriosis by inhibiting secretion of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and leutenizing hormone (LH) by the pituitary gland. While hormone therapies could impair abnormal growth of endometrial implants, they are not recommended for women planning conception. To treat infertility in women with endometriosis in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment is recommended. Large endometriosis implants might be removed through laparoscopy surgery.
Ayurvedic medicine practitioners recommend intake of laxatives on the 14th and 15th day of the menstrual cycle to lower the risk of endometriosis. Women prone to endometriosis should limit intake of caffeine, alcohol, cheese and meat. They should drink plenty of warm water.

I never heard of drinking warm water for endo. Any idea what that would do? I suffered with endo for years and years and had great difficulty getting pregnant. I have had a hysterectomy but I swear I still have pain from this. Is that possible?
